O’Donnell is one of the few American media pundits who self identifies as Socialist.

This is O’Donnell on the ‘Morning Joe’ TV show in 2010:

“I am not a progressive. I am not a liberal who is so afraid of the word that I had to change my name to ‘progressive’. Liberals amuse me. I am a socialist. I lie to the extreme left, the extreme left of you mere liberals.”

BTW The National Rifle Association stopped being interested in representing oridinary WC and middle class gun owners in America years ago. Nowadays it’s leadership are primarly interested in being a lobby group and general shills for the gun making industry.

As O’Donnell says, it’s far too expensive to have an armed guard in every school and, even if they had one, he or she couldn’t be everywhere at once.

What if they were taking a lunch break, or in the rest-room when the shooter broke in?

The only solution is to arm every teacher. At the very least, they would need a semi-automatic assault rifle.
Every class room would need to have a reinforced door, which would be locked during lessons.

(There might be a problem during lesson changeovers and lunch breaks and the fire regulations would need to be modified)

You’d also need to patrol the corridors, canteens and playgrounds at all times. So the entire site would need to be surrounded by razor wire and watch towers, with security cameras everywhere.

During their free periods and break duties, teachers could do armed patrols in return for a free school meals. Well, realistically, they’d be armed teaching assistants.
There should be plenty of unemployed Afghan veterans with weapons training coming home soon.
    Sorted….

Actually, on balance, free school meals are a dangerously socialist idea. Maybe a 10% disount might be more suitable?

Alternatively all pupils and staff could be required to wear kevlar body armour at all times whilst on school premises.

  5. Surely they should be abandoning this socialist ‘public education’ nonsense altogether. Little Jimmy can learn his letters in the bunker, while his father shows him how to polish a mounted light machine gun.
